Force Motors has launched two new models of the Gurkha names Xplorer and Xpedition, priced at Rs. 9.35 lakh and Rs. 8.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Karnataka) respectively. The Xplorer comes in a three-door guise, while the Xpedition gets five-doors.
Both the Xplorer and the Xpedition are powered by a BS IV compliant 2.6-litre diesel engine which makes 85bhp at 3,200rpm and 230Nm of torque between 1400rpm -2400rpm. The engine is mated to a new five-speed gearbox.
Apart from the engine, the Gurkhas get re-designed front grille, new front and rear steel bumpers with fog lamps, power steering and a snorkel. The other highlight on both the models is the suspension. Instead of the old leaf spring setup, the Gurkhas sport an independent coil spring setup up front and a multi-link coil spring set up for the rear, along with diff locks on both axles as well. In addition to all of that, the Xplorer comes with the option of either a hard top or soft top, while the Xpedition gets the option of a seven or a nine seat configuration.
We are thankful to Mangalore Force dealership in Udupi for the information and the pictures.
